Well! That is why I constantly, when raising five children, spouted off dire warnings and worst case scenarios in all moments of fun or just everyday chores!

Hi! I love(d) the Daily Poem, so I’m sorry that this is my first comment, but…I wasn’t prepared for this poem. Maybe I should have been based on the title, but I was all excited to listen to a Robert Frost poem with my small children in the car…and then had my heart ripped out. (Thankfully, I don’t think my littles were actually listening. 😅)

Now, I go to listen, and I can’t get invested, so yesterday I unsubscribed to the podcast. Maybe I’ll be back (TDP was my favorite podcast!), but in the future, it’d be nice to have a “super sad and bloody” warning at the outset of a poem like this!

Thanks for sharing a variety of poems from the world over and for your (usually) funny commentary, Mr. Johnson.

What a genuine encounter to have with this poem! That's a good word about the tragedy warnings, though. Sorry to hear Frost did you in (North-easterners have that effect on me, too, sometimes). Come back any time.
