this poem brings tears to my eyes... my own mother is beginning to experience the losses of Dementia, and we are "losing" her bit by bit. But love was never safe... and i must love you so, or not at all. Thanks so much for this Sean. I feel like this poem is such a nice complement to a poem you shared a few weeks ago, Bob Hicok’s “ O My Pa-Pa”. Distance of time changes the way that we engage with our parents. It makes me appreciate them more - they are changing and I am changing and I must love them as they are, or not at all.
